MADDSA MEETING MINUTES
6/14/07
DD Coordinator Report
- Reviewing Purchase of Service for 2008
- County pulling together outcomes from '06 to see what they
can review for '07.
- Recognize importance of looking at contract funded clients
that are not on waiver and figure out how they will be impacted by FC.
This is a concern especially those that do not qualify for T19 and are
part of SLO. The county will look at ways to make them eligible for T19.
- We will begin to hear more about the county resource
center and the direction that it is moving in.
- Continuing to move forward on the state center movement.
For the first ˝ of the year the county was one person short of its goal of
12 people placed outside of the center. The annual goal is 25. Discussed
a meeting held at ARC for guardians and loved ones that addressed moving
their loved one out of the centers. There were more attendees then
normal.
- There will be a residential meeting after MADDSA today and
then quarterly after that.

- Issue of ER Visits and Protocol Discussed
- Different agencies gave their protocol for when a client
is taken to the ER and there is not enough staff.
- Health Span - sends staff until the client is in the room
and stable or until the family or guardian is present. A supervisor on
call that is familiar with the client will also be notified.
- CCLS - Struggles with this with their day program. The
day Program believes it is the group home responsibility and that is not
always possible.
- LSS - Stated their nurse is the primary contact for all
client medical issues. They have agreement with Goodwill that they will
send a staff until the Group home staff arrives to take over.

- County view point - Per Sandra Butts, there needs to be
further discussion about this issue to set expectations as this is an
ongoing problem.
